  Although extremely happy with the finished garage, the experience was not the one expected after reading all the reviews on the website. On trying to put a review on there, you realise why. Obviously only the good ones are selected by the company – certainly not any containing negatives of any description. The indicated timescale of ten weeks evolved into four months and after chasing the company a few times, eventually a date was given a date and a couple of days were booked off in anticipation (the second was an extra as we had been assured the work would only take one day). Dencroft were contacted the day before installation to check on the time of arrival and the indication given was mid-morning. The installation day arrived and by very late morning, no sign of anyone and no phone call from Dencroft. Two phone calls later the reason given was that the wife of one of the installers had been rushed into hospital and they were a team down. How one man is a team didn’t make sense, but that was the story. It was indicated that the work would be done the next day and a call was promised if that wasn’t going to happen. Of course the next day - no phone call and no installers. By this time (and two wasted days’ holiday) the experience was turning into a shambles – especially by the lack of communication from the office. Surely any professional company would want to keep their clients in the picture and not wait for the client to have to contact them. Obviously not Dencroft. The work was actually carried out one week later – another day off. The good news was that the installers arrived – and they were excellent, couldn’t be faulted at all. They never stopped except for the occasional cuppa and lunch. They did everything apart from sealing the edges, the front pillars and the electrics for the door. The finishing touches were done about a week later. As the leaflet left with the controls for the electric door indicated a wireless wall control, which was not left with the rest of the items, a phone call was made to Dencroft. The response of the person answering the phone was not very professional – just indicated that different models included different items and ours did not include the control – it was an extra which hadn’t been requested. How do you know about such things when you are not told! The leaflet did not indicate that this control only came with certain models – so you would expect it to be included. Our overall impression of Dencroft – keen and professional when you are ordering/spending, extremely poor on customer/client communication and after service. The redeeming element as far as we were concerned was the excellent work carried out by the installers – very well done to them. The team in the office should consider some form of customer-based training including communication skills as these are sadly lacking.
